What we essentially have here in Washington County are modern day lynchings. Outside of the Portland borders, it is very much right wing republican central and we might as well be in Alabama if we have any kind of liberal lifestyle which includes same-sex relationships/marriages or anyone who has worked in the sex industry.

At CCCF, there is one such lady that has been arrested in Seattle without probable cause, convicted with an unfair trial, and continues to be discriminated against by not being given a job or allowed to level up, even though she is the sole caretaker and breadwinner for her family, with parents who have terminal illnesses. Even the ACLU has chosen to sweep this under the rug.

There are so many rights from both the Constitution and the Bill of Rights being violated here that we are having trouble counting them, yet yet people are required to stay in prison to fight their cases where they receive even more stigma and discrimination, even if they have no criminal history and are college educated.

Discrimination ruins lives and still runs rampant in the northwest. One lady at CCCF who is being discriminated against because of her previous choice of profession had an over half million condominium in downtown Seattle that she bought herself. Once her neighbors found out she was working in the sex industry, they forced her out of the condo with the home owner’s association. When she would go out of town for business, they would change the bylaws so she didn’t know she was breaking them when she came back. She was heavily fined for this. Every time she parked her car if it was even a smidgen over the line, they would have her car towed. They would make up damages that had to be paid for. She was having trouble keeping up with all the unfair expenses and when she was late with her dues they changed the code on the gate and locked her out of her own home. She lost all of her furniture, computers, expensive art on the walls, and even a book that her friend wrote and gifted to her. All of her grandmother’s jewelry was in the condo and when they arrested her without probable cause and brought her to Washington County Jail, her grandmother had passed away. Her brother had also passed away while she was there and her lawyers let her stay in there and get convicted for 25 years to life.

While she was in Washington County Jail, she received excessive force from officers and sometimes they didn’t even allow her to eat. She didn’t eat for over 2 months and when she passed out in her cell and hit her face on the sink, she had a black eye for a month. The officers never even asked her if she was OK. When she had gotten so sick that she couldn’t even keep water down, she pushed the button to call for an ambulance but nobody came.

This was all done in the name of discrimination. At her trial, she was too weak to walk in the shackles, so to get her to the trial they put her in a wheel chair. The trial had already begun when she got there and they took the shackles off in front of the jury, which is against legal courtroom procedure. Her previous profession was not even relevant to her case, but they spent several days talking about it. When she told her lawyers to object because it was irrelevant, they told her to shut up.

Police that arrested her said at trial that she put the vehicle in reverse and tried to flee, but her lawyers never asked to see the dashcam footage of the vehicle behind her that would have shown otherwise.

Her lawyers did object to taking her vehicle away from her without a warrant, but the judge allowed it! If that’s not discrimination, we don’t know what is.

Her father has stage 2 Alzheimer’s and dementia, so when he was out trying to go to the store, he got lost. He left the vehicle to walk and try to get home, but the vehicle was never found. When she was trying to keep her vehicle from being taken away, her friend said he would buy her another one, but when she asked him to do that because here parents needed one to get to doctor’s appointments, he blew her off. She’s been struggling to pay her parent’s mortgage and bills from in here but it’s been a challenge, especially since CCCF has not allowed her to get a job because they are discriminating against her. She can barely afford essentials for herself at this point.

This is happening in America! in the year 2023! We should know by now that discrimination is wrong.
