One of the kitchen coordinators at CCCF makes his own porn videos and has a website where one of the ladies at CCCF had her past of over 10 years ago brought up at her trial to prejudice the jury that she had made porn videos. Now she has CCCF kitchen coordinators trying to force her into slave labor where she makes less than a dollar a day.

Another lady at CCCF had told off a kitchen coordinator and he charged her with almost every charge in the book, including extortion. This is predatory police work, when these kitchen coordinators are not even police. This lady was then taken to the segregation unit in handcuffs.

One correction officer at CCCF says that she decided on her profession to honor her father who passed away, while at the same time she is contributing to isolating other ladies from their families when being punished in segregation. Sometimes this happens even when a lady has not done anything wrong or when a correction officer is trying to cover up a mistake he has made. Some of these isolated ladies are not allowed to use the phone even though they have infant children or parents with terminal illnesses.

Another lady at CCCF fell off the top bunk and is now having to get around on crutches. She has still not been seen by medical for x-rays. This is another example of how our basic human rights are being denied; rights such as (1) the right to protect oneself, (2) the right to communicate or not, (3) the right to be safe from retaliation, (4) the right to reach out for help, (5) the right to live in a safe environment. We have the right to reasonable freedom, to not be labeled, to not be abused, to protect our bodily boundaries and possessions, to speak out against abuse, and to campaign for these rights. CCCF utilizes powerful forms of abuse and has stripped us of almost all of our basic human rights. We are not animals, yet they treat us like we are.

At Washington County Jail, there were two deaths recently. They were not taking proper care of ladies detoxing off of drugs. Also, a lady there who takes seizure medications was not given any for three months. We are grateful she survived, but this facility has had deaths during detox situations before. Why are they not taking proper care of these ladies?

In Yam Hill County Jail, a guy was beat up and had internal bleeding. He was also peeing blood. He pushed the emergency button for help but nobody came. His family sued the jail for 5 million dollars.

One lady at CCCF, the one that was give Loss of Privileges (LOP)before her hearing, was questioning the officers when she got her hearing results back as the charges had been dropped. She was moved to the isolation unit (punishment) with no explanation. While there, she met another lady that said her mother had worked for the state before and they were trained not to admit when they made mistakes, so the officer the lady had questioned had said in his report that the lady did not have the right paperwork, but she knew that was wrong and the officer just didn’t want to to admit he was wrong. In the mean time, while waiting to be moved to the isolation unit, ladies are placed in cages not even big enough to stretch out out in. Ladies are left there for hours at a time and are ignored if they ask to use the restroom. Two ladies urinated on themselves because they couldn’t hold it any longer. Three ladies that we know of are in the isolation unit solely on suspicion. The unit is completely full and they treat us like animals here. We are not allowed to call friends or family.

One lady at CCCF was taken to isolation because her roommate used one of her envelopes to send a letter to someone and ask about getting drugs into the prison. The lady was blamed for it and has been in isolation for 14 days now. She was given her intake interview chained to a wall. She would like to further her education here and get her law degree, as she already has her paralegal degree and has job experience. Another lady here has already turned in a proposal for ladies to be able to study and become lawyers here at CCCF and also to be able to practice as a lawyer. The men’s prison has this available and we are wondering why the proposal hasn’t even been answered after several months. We think it’s discrimination against women.

There is another lady here in segregation at CCCF that was accused by her work colleagues of threatening to “shank” them when she had done no such thing and never even had a “shank”. The officers brought her here and and charged her with assault just on hearsay. It’s a shame that ladies are so often punished for crimes they didn’t commit and treated like animals. This particular lady was eventually let out of segregation but there are still others that haven’t even been told why they’re here.

One lady in Washington County Jail was given two years for a burglary. She crashed her car into her ex boyfriend’s house. His father punched her and she was still given a burglary charge. In CCCF, she is being held in segregation for 6 months.

One lady in segregation at CCCF is trying to get envelopes to send letters to her mother and significant other. They don’t even know she’s in prison and she has an infant child her mother is taking care of. Another lady they’ve been keeping her address book from her and she has elderly parents that have terminal illness. We feel like we shouldn’t have contact cut off from family that we are responsible for.

A kitchen coordinator got mad at a lady at CCCF and threw a garbage can. she was yelling at the lady and being very abusive. Her name is Ms. Brown and the lady was crying after the incident.

The lady at CCCF that had her clothes cut off on video was yelled at the day after she go out of isolation by a male officer to take her clothes off for a strip search. for anyone that has a history of sexual abuse, this can be very traumatic and we are doing our best to make her feel safe again.

One lady at CCCF had a hearing scheduled and they put her on Loss of Privileges before the findings came back. Her charges were dropped and she was still punished. The officer took away the paper that said her charges were dropped and searched her cell. His name is Mr. Mastrian

One lady in Marion County Jail was given anti-psychotic medication for her seizures. She gained a lot of weight and is depressed because of it, so she stays in her cell and sleeps all day. At CCCF, they told her medications were mandatory and they make her feel sick to her stomach every day.

For her first offense, she got 10 years probation when the police hog tied her and put a spit mask on her when she was being cooperative. They threw her in the back of the truck and took her to the hospital after throwing her on the ground. There were 7 large male officers there and she is only about 5’4″ and weighed about 120 lbs.

The second time this young lady was arrested, they grabbed her arm that had a birth control implant. She asked them not to be so aggressive, then they pushed her over and then punched her and stepped on her foot really hard. He also pushed his finger into her temple really hard and almost made her pass out. She was going through an overdose at the time and they never took her to the hospital. There were 5 officers there.

At CCCF, they literally give ladies a “shakedown report” when searching their cells. They take anything they want out of the cell and call it contraband, including things ladies have bought from the prison store. According to the Prison Rape Elimination Act, they have to be respectful when conducting searches. We don’t think stealing from a cell during a search is respectful behavior for staff here.

One lady at CCCF has been in segregation for close to a month for refusing to move to the top bunk, which has no protective railings. Also the ladder to get there is not built according to OSHA standards. It’s hard to use the phone to call our families in segregation and they take all of our possessions away.

Another lady fell off the top bunk a couple of days ago and is now in the hospital. She was supposed to be getting out in 12 days. We hope she is able to go home and get away from this dangerous, abusive place.

Another Lady was arrested with an injured arm and she told the officer, but she handcuffed her and pushed her down on the car purposely being aggressive when she was cooperating.

We work all the time in the kitchen at CCCF with black mold which is bad for our respiratory health. One lady with COPD was being forced to work there.

Lindsey Perry (SID # 12785642 at CCCF) has two broken pins and a non-union fractured femur. They refused to give her pain medication because she has dilated cardiomyopathy. She also has celiac disease and they found multiple nodules in her lungs. They told her it was chronic granulomatous disease, an autoimmune disease. They didn’t give her any info on this whatsoever and we don’t have any access to the internet here. OHSU says she qualifies for surgery when her social status gets better. This is cruel and unusual punishment. The prison is willing to pay for transgender surgery, so why not this?

Susan Monica – They put her case on Snapped (TV show) with a bunch of false information.

One lady at CCCF got 15 months for a parole violation. That seems like excessive sentencing.

Another lady at CCCF is being forced to do chemo therapy against her will. It is a shame that CBD products can’t be used in here as they are all natural with no side effects. (it’s THC that has psychoactive effects, not CBD) Rick Simpson’s oil helps with the side-effects of chemotherapy, which is basically poison that makes people very sick and in some instances even lose their hair. Not with CBD or Rick Simpson’s oil. We would eventually like to even get a CBD plant program here at CCCF so people can learn to grow it and how it can be used as medicine for migraines, fibromyalgia, epilepsy, anxiety, and sleep problems. With cannabis being legal in Oregon now, it would be a great addition to the prison as it would save them a lot of money.

04-19-22

The temptation is great at CCCF to claim behavioral health issues as they get more privileges like more time out of their cells, being able to watch music videos, and getting a radio. We are not sure but we suspect the young lady with the incident yesterday may have done this. The prison then went behind her back and got a court order to give her injections of medication. They asked her to sign it, but she refused. It is very concerning that they can do this in here. We consider it medical rape. The staff also violated the HIPAA law by telling the young lady’s medical info to other prisoners.

One lady at CCCF has a hernia in her throat, so sometimes she has to go to the bathroom when she’s eating because she has trouble swallowing and even throws up sometimes. She asked an officer if she could go to her room during a meal to use the bathroom and the officer said no. We saw them taking her down the hall in handcuffs. This violates her HIPAA rights as she should not have to disclose her medical records in order to use the bathroom.

One lady at CCCF says she wants to put in a grievance about what happened today but she’s afraid of the head nurse here and that they will force a needle on her if she does.

The officer in charge of housing ladies here at CCCF was escorted off of the facility because of a PREA report. This is the same lady that was showing favoritism to the lesbian prisoners.

04-18-22

One lady at CCCF can barely stay awake for a week straight in the kitchen while at work. Another lady here is forced a shot of medicine that she doesn’t want. She was crying and screaming “it’s my body” in her cell as they were getting ready to do it. We say this is rape. We saw 6 officers in riot gear taking her away. She’s just a small young woman in her early 20s that can’t be more than 5′ 4″ and 115 lbs. We ask that you call in and make a PREA report for her. According to the Prison Rape Elimination Act, staff at this facility have been trained to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuse. We say staff here should be held accountable for this. PREA also says rape is never part of the penalty and staff at this facility must not punish us for reporting abuse.

04-16-22

We’ve been locked down for over 24 hours at CCCF because department of corrections had an Easter egg hunt for their families. We haven’t been able to call our families at all or even friends for the holiday.

A pregnant lady at CCCF had a grand mal seizure because of the medications they put her on. They didn’t even take her to the hospital.

According to the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), this facility must respond supportively to someone that needs help. The young lady that that was sexually assaulted here did not get help from Oregon Department of Corrections. She had to find her own lawyer to start an investigation. Staff here at CCCF should keep her safe and make sure she gets help, but that never happened. Staff here is supposed to also protect her from retaliation but they didn’t. Instead, they repeatedly punished her and sent her to the isolation unit. This is not OK. Rape should never be a part of the penalty and we feel the staff here should be held accountable. We have the right to be safe here and we have the right to be treated with respect and dignity.

Kitchen coordinators at CCCF announced to us last night that they don’t want to hear about our injuries and health problems. “Do that in your off time. It’s not my problem.”

One lady at CCCF was 16 years old when she was brought here. A lot of ladies suffer from depression and they say there’s not a lot of support or even counseling here. In fact, they tell us we’re not allowed to talk about our cases or problems here. One thing they do offer and even seem to push on us is medication. One lady says she was given Lithium at Washington County Jail and at CCCF she’s visibly under the influence of a very strong medication. She says she’s afraid of getting in trouble if she doesn’t take it. Another lady that works in the kitchen at CCCF is on Thorazine. Both of these ladies move very slowly and when they under-staff us, it’s really hard for us to keep up. We get punished when they are under-staffed with officers by not letting us go outside.

The young lady that was sexually assaulted at Washington County Jail has found a lawyer to conduct an investigation, but the person that did it to her is still here at this facility and free to sexually assault another lady. Under the Prison Rape Elimination Act, staff is supposed to be keeping her safe and separating her from the person that sexually assaulted her. Another lady was sexually assaulted by another prisoner. They were separated by being moved to different units but we see them both in the meal line getting food at around the same time.

An officer said she watched a lady at CCCF sit for 10 minutes without her mask on and wrote a disciplinary report without even talking to her first. The lady said she did have her mask on and the officer should check the cameras. The officer replied that she would give the lady another one for calling her a liar. At this point, the officer is not concerned about safety, only control.

We had another lady placed in the segregation unit for a week, then they decided to drop her charges. She has had all of her things taken away from her and she doesn’t even have a cup to drink out of. This is harassment and we are doing our best to help her.

In the kitchen today at CCCF, a lady banged her finger so bad she wasn’t sure if she broke it. It swelled up to twice its size. The kitchen coordinator she told said she wasn’t allowed to go to medical to have it examined.

In an area of CCCF where the officers came in and out, there is a giant mural of soldiers with machine guns. This is not an image we want to portray in a place we live. It sends a subliminal message that prisoners are enemies. Under the Prison Rape Elimination act, we deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. You be the judge of that.

A major university did a psychological study on the incarceration situation by taking 20 people to participate. 10 were designated as prisoners and 10 were designated as officers. They had to stop the experiment because some of the people designated as officers started getting abusive with the prisoners. We think there needs to be a psychological evaluation done on officers here at CCCF and other prisons in America. Evaluations also need to be done on the staff at jails as well.

Under the PREA, staff at this facility must be respectful when conducting searches. One officer was seen going into a lady’s cell when she was at work and not told they were conducting a search. Also under the PREA, staff at this facility are required to act professionally. They should not be picking favorites, which we have seen and documented quite a bit here. Under the act, we have the right to medical and mental health care after we have been sexually abused. Both of the ladies we have mentioned here were not offered that at either facility. Facilities must have a plan to keep us safe from sexual about and sexual harassment and respond supportively if someone needs help. This didn’t happen with either facility and they should be help accountable

04-12-22

One lady at CCCF has been here since February and has a mass in her chest that’s never been tested. She says it bothers her sometimes and she has trouble swallowing. They gave her an inhaler in case she has trouble breathing.

There are a lot of misconceptions out there about jail and prison and we really hope this sheds some light on the situation. The way people get criminalized for past convictions and get sentenced to more time is almost like double jeopardy. We really want to believe in America but the way they treat people who don’t have a lot of money, drug addicts, and people with mental illness here is wrong. In an ideal society, we try to help those that have less than what we do, not punish and abuse them like they do at CCCF. Just the other day, we had a lady beaten so badly by 15 officers, they had to take her out in a body bag.

One lady says that she came to Oregon for help because they portrayed an image like they wanted to help her. She has a record and was going through a divorce where her ex husband was giving her a lot of trouble. She ended up with over a year sentenced here at CCCF without the help she was asking for.

04-10-22

A lady at CCCF cut her finger pretty badly in the veggie room of the kitchen, which is usually locked to keep anyone from going in or out except kitchen coordinators. They were banging on the door to get the coordinators to open it and it took quite some time for that to happen. Once the coordinator opened the door, the prisoners were reprimanded for banging on the door.

04-09-22

One lady at CCCF had her first offense when her boyfriend told her to drive when she was blacked out by opiates. She didn’t know the car was stolen, so when they were pulled over, she was the one given fifty months in prison, but her boyfriend only got 5 months and he had a record. She had no prior convictions. Now whenever she gets another conviction, another five months is automatically added to her sentence. This is the same lady who was given methadone and Oxycontin when she was twelve years old because she was in a car accident. At that young age to be put on opiates they almost programmed her for opiate addiction. This is also another example of how the state of Oregon discriminates against women.

Many of the ladies here have taken the blame for crimes their men have done and not just because of the system. Some women choose to do that out of love. We have never heard of a man taking charges for his woman. In fact, one woman was at the condo complex of her male friend the day she was accused of many crimes she didn’t do including murder 2. There was even a camera at the entrance and he never came forward to say she was with him that day.

Another lady was convicted of writing checks against her grandmother’s account but it was her boyfriend they had on camera cashing the checks. Women are often used as scapegoats both by the system and by men we think it’s time they should be accountable and stop putting the blame on women.

04-08-22

A lady in the kitchen at CCCF today was in a lot of pain because she broke her back and they wouldn’t let her leave. Later on in the day she had a slip and fall accident and was taken out in a wheelchair while crying in pain.

Covid vaccinations by Johnson & Johnson were given at Washington County jail before they were approved by the FDA. The same thing happened at CCCF and other corrections facilities. The medications that don’t sell to the public end up here and in an effort to save money, the facility either forces medications that are not correct on ladies or doesn’t provide medications that work to ladies because they are in too much demand by the public. Our health and safety should not be compromised like this.

Another lady at CCCF was supposed to get 7 points of her insulin and they gave her 30 by accident. If it was fast acting insulin, she would have been dead. This is criminal negligence and should not be happening here. This same lady has an enlarged aorta and still hasn’t been treated. This is a person’s life they are gambling with. This kind of criminal negligence belongs in a P.O.W. camp and not the United States of America.

04-07-22

A lady at CCCF last night was given the wrong insulin and spent the night in the hospital.

There was a girl at Oak Creek Corrections Facility that was given diabetic medicine for being overweight. She actually ended up getting diabetes from taking this medication.

There is another lady at CCCF that was in a car accident at age twelve. The doctors gave her methadone and Oxycontin and now she has trouble with opioid addiction.

04-05-22

One lady was giving birth to a baby and while the doctors were cleaning her up she noticed a DHS representative there looking at her. He said she wasn’t allowed to be alone with her baby. Then later on they said she was allowed and that they made a mistake.

Another lady at CCCF had a sexual assault happen in the kitchen with a coordinator. WE have a right to be safe here from sexual predators.

50 ladies in G unit were strip-searched and five were give urinalysis tests. They didn’t find anything. This is harassment on a large scale.

Ladies in the kitchen at CCCF were punished for having their own commissary items.

04-04-22

One lady that works in the kitchen was strip-searched while handcuffed to the wall for no reason. This is intimidation and harassment. She was also made fun of by the officers at CCCF and interrogated.

The men’s prisons has an early release option which the women’s prison does not. This once again goes to show that the state of Oregon discriminates against women. Their men’s prison also has an automotive program and a lawyer program where prisoners can study to become a lawyer and also practice law from prison. There is no reason why the ladies can’t have these privileges as well. The discrimination in Oregon needs to stop, and so does the excessive force and violence, the intimidation, and the unnecessary harassment of prisoners.

It was in national news that an officer at CCCF was having sex with a bunch of female prisoners at CCCF. It’s the prison’s job to keep prisoners safe and it seems like they are more concerned with unnecessary punishment, harassment, and intimidation. One lady was beaten up by someone she didn’t even know and they failed to keep her safe. Another lady broke her arm falling in her room.

04-03-22

A lady from D unit, which is where many ladies with mental illness and PTSD issues are housed in CCCF, saw two different ladies pepper sprayed. One was on April 1st and the other was on April 3rd. She could feel the pepper spray burning her eyes while she was in her cell. Another lady that works as an orderly had to clean it up. She said she’s learned not to breath while she cleans it. We don’t think pepper spray is a good way to handle mental illness or PTSD issues in the first place, but it also affects many others besides the intended victims. Also, a lot of the ladies here are on medications, and when the dosage is adjusted or a new medication is taken, ladies can have drastic mood altering effects and even get sick from this. It interferes with their ability to be accountable for their actions along with mental illness.

The officers and staff here have no such excuse for this abuse and we want them to start being accountable for all of the injustices we experience here. One lady was celled-in twelve times in two months because she can’t hear.

In the kitchen at CCCF, we are not allowed to bring anything out of the kitchen. This leaves us with a dilemma if we need to bring in antacid or aspirin or anything like that because we will have to get searched upon leaving. If anything is found, we are punished.

There is one lady at the Lynn County Jail that woke up in a pool of her own blood with nothing but a hospital gown on. They had cut her clothes off while she was unconscious and had cracked her left eye socket in a display of excessive force and violence.

04-1-22

One lady at CCCF says she feels discriminated against because all the lesbian couples get moved to the minimum security section of the prison. The officer in charge of housing here is a woman but looks and dresses like a man. We’re not sure if she is a lesbian, but it makes sense because she seems to exhibit favoritism when housing ladies.

Today in the kitchen, we had the head of the culinary department observe operations. It was the first time in two months that we were shown emergency exists and where fire extinguishers are. There are still ladies working in the kitchen without non-slip shoes though, and we see ladies slip even with non-slip shoes.

03-29-22

There is one lady at CCCF with carpal tunnel and arthritis that needs surgery and she’s being forced to work in the kitchen even though she is in a lot of pain. Forcing people to work when they are in pain is criminal negligence.

There is another lady at CCCF that tripped over a rug and fell on her knee. She has a huge bruise and it’s very painful. She was not seen by medical.

Another lady had an ingrown hair and medical at CCCF gave her medicine for a yeast infection. She came to us in tears. We were able to find her some antibacterial soap to make a heat compress.

Many ladies in Oregon did not get fair trials. In one instance, the DA broke into a lady’s lawyer’s office without a warrant to obtain her records. They decided not to use evidence that proved facts in her case. Prejudicing the jury is a common practice in the state of Oregon as well as using hearsay. With one lady, they said she was a drug addict, but all of the medications she had were prescribed by a doctor. They also said she was a gambling addict, but there was no evidence or witnesses to prove it. The judge allowed this hearsay to be used in her trial. He also allowed the DA to make fun of her because of the abuse she suffered from her ex husband.

In another instance, the judge allowed a lady’s vehicle to be taken from her without a warrant. Pictures were taken and the DA told the jury she was homeless because she had a lot of things inside it.The DA also brought up her involvement in the adult entertainment industry more than 10 years prior to her trial that was irrelevant to her case to further prejudice the jury. The DA also took statements from a disgruntled ex boyfriend.

With one lady, they said she had taken her ex husband’s wallet from him after he was deceased but in all actuality, it was the medical examiner. With another lady, they said she was trying to rob the deceased because he had a lot of cash on him, but there was no cash missing from his person and the lady wasn’t even found on the scene. The officers supposedly preserving the scene had taken the case from the deceased’s wallet, separated it into two piles, and then took photos of it. We can only conclude that they were trying to make the scene look like a robbery. The lady had three different robbery charges on her discovery, but when she wouldn’t take the deal they were trying to coerce her with at her sentencing hearing, the robbery charges magically disappeared from her list of charges along with a first degree murder charge. The officers on the scene of the crime also tampered with the body, They moved it around trying to find the weapon. No weapon was produced and the lady was charged with unlawful use of a firearm along with second degree murder by the jury even though she was not even found at the scene of the crime.

Several ladies were brought into their trials shackled in plain view of the jury. One lady was too weak to walk in shackles, so they brought her into the courtroom in a wheelchair in front of the jury.

We’ve mentioned before the humiliation of having to wear men’s clothing at CCCF but there’s more to add to the abuse. When we first check in here, they do not issue any small sizes in clothing but for those of us who are really small, the clothes just look sloppy on us. Also if they are trying to keep us from wearing tight clothing to deter us from sexual predators, then they need to take another look at the staff they hire here. We’ve already had two sexual assault cases that we know of and to a real sexual predator, tight clothing is not going to matter. If we are wearing clothing that is several sizes too big, the predator can just slip a hand into the sleeve of a lady’s t-shirt or up the leg of shorts that are several sizes too big. There are two reasons men find it sexy when women wear men’s clothing and it’s not because it looks good on her. One is that it’s easy access, and two is that it places ownership on her.

Also at CCCF, when they call for medication they open all the doors, which would insinuate that we all need to be medicated. Medication is just another form of control here, especially if the lady doesn’t actually need them. There are no deep trauma councilors here and most mental illness is caused by deep trauma. Medication is just a band-aid type of temporary fix and is not getting to the root of the lady’s problems.

03-28-22

There is an old lady here at CCCF that got her cell searched and they took the sugar packets from her that she had saved up from meals. They were the only thing she had in her room besides a bible and she was given a disciplinary report for these. We hears an officers raising his voice to her last night around midnight. Another lady told him to leave her alone, she’s just an old lady. He responded that he didn’t care about her.

They are extremely wasteful at this prison and every days we see them throw away tons of food in the kitchen, They dump gallons of milk down the drain, but a lady that works in the infirmary says the milk is always curdled there.

Another young lady was locked down for 24 hours for having night terrors, which are kind of like having bad dreams but worse. Being punished really doesn’t seem like a good way to treat a person with night terrors. It’s not like they choose to have them. Punishment seems to be the answer to almost everything to these officers.

One lady just asked if anything happened to her would it even matter to anyone? This lady also has visible scars on her arms from cutting. We do our best here to make sure everyone feels important within a system that seems to pride itself in tearing people down. Contrary to popular belief, we are not in a P.O.W. camp. We are in the United States of America and we still have rights.

Once lady was telling another that she had served her country in the military and risked her life to get a college educations just so she could be bossed around by kitchen coordinators with G.E.D. education levels and that seemed to enjoy misuse of power. In fact, one of the kitchen rules is no yelling, as they need to be able to tell if there is a fight going on. Well, in the past month, there has never been a fight but there has been at least five slip & fall accidents and if someone is hurt, they would need to yell for help.

Another rule is to not touch the giant dishwasher in the dish room, as it’s a $30,000 piece of equipment. Well, one day a coordinator came into the dish room and removed a piece from the giant dish machine, then walked away and forgot about it. Hours later, it was a prisoner that put the machine back together and the coordinator never showed up.

We had a lady slip and fall on March 18th, 21st, and 22nd. They never documented them in her medical record. The other lady that slipped and fell and hurt her mouth and lip was told they don’t document injuries in the kitchen unless they are serious. Both ladies were never taken to to medical to be x-rayed.

We had an old lady here that slipped and fell in the parking lot of the Oregon State Police department and officers asked if she was OK. She said yes, and continued walking. Now she’s in a wheelchair because she never got treated for a broken hip.

There is a lady at CCCF that had a baby with ta man that turned out to be abusive. She broke up with him, but gave his new girlfriend a ride to a hotel so she could see her child. The new girlfriend said she didn’t have a wallet with her so the lady checked her here into a room, as she though it was for her ex boyfriend. It turned out he was pimping the new girlfriend and she was only 16, so the lady got charged with promoting prostitution, even though she didn’t know what was going on. She also had to register as a sex offender and the abusive ex boyfriend was free to go and pimp other young girls. She was sentenced to 5 years in prison for her ex boyfriend’s crime.

We have a lady here in CCCF that was sexually harassed in Washington County Jail. She says she thought the deputy was going to let her out, so she took her clothes off. He asked her to do it in her cell where the cameras couldn’t see. She said every time he walked by her cell she would dance in her underwear. She never reported him, but he was still fired for doing the same thing to another lady. She can’t work in the kitchen at CCCF because she has a history of self-harm. When she can’t find anything to cut herself with, she pulls her eyelashes out. We are hopeful she’s no longer being sexually harassed in CCCF. Sexual harassment damages a woman’s self-worth and self-respect. We are working with her to try and make sure she finds those important things again. She has decided to leave behind the relationships she had that over-sexualized her and wants to find someone that loves her beyond biology and doesn’t objectify her.

We have another lady here at CCCF that got a disciplinary report for pushing a handicapped lady in a wheelchair. Another lady got a DR as well for sleeping under her bed. The DR said “unauthorized area” because she was out of view. If she was out of view, then how did they see her in the first place? At this point, these disciplinary reports just seem like harassment. It’s not an officer’s job description to harass prisoners and those that feel it is, need to reconsider why they chose the job in the first place.

One lady is being forced to work in the kitchen at CCCF with rheumatoid arthritis and is in a lot of pain. There is a healthy lady whose feet hurt so bad from working, she tried to get in trouble just so she could rest. We had a lady with an artificial back and plates in her face who fell twice while working in the dish room. She said she didn’t want to work there anymore and we saw her being escorted out of the kitchen in handcuffs.

Ladies that self-harm here at CCCF get rewarded by the prison when they don’t do it for certain periods of time. This seems like more encouragement to self-harm because they get things like more time out of their cells and they they get to watch music videos. The ladies that don’t self-harm don’t get these privileges.

One lady at CCCF says that it’s discrimination against her as a minority that they gave her a disciplinary report. She says she really wanted to get into the firefighter’s program and they gave her the report so they could take her level away from her. At CCCF, when a prisoner gets to a higher level, they get more privileges like being hired for better jobs, getting a craft box, and being able to get acrylic nails from cosmetology. This is the same lady that was arrested for using a plastic mug to make coffee and we believe the whole reason she is here is discrimination. She doesn’t even have enough money on her books to purchase stamped envelopes for her legal mail.

One lady here at CCCF had $400 taken out of her account for restitution when she was never given any restitution for her case.

There is a lady in Washington County Jail that was promised 24 months at CCCF and once she got there, she found out they had tacked on an extra 18 months that was never agreed upon. When she was arrested, she was an arms length away from the officer and he pushed her into a pole where she fractured her hand. The doctor gave her a brace to wear, but when she got to Washington County Jail, they took it away from her and she had to go around with a fractured hand.

One lady at CCCF is being forced to work in the kitchen with two broken fingers. She works in the dish room which requires a lot of heavy work with the hands. Ladies who work there often end up with bruises on their arms and hands.

A lady in Washington County Jail was smoking a marijuana pipe when an officer came up to her and asked if she smoked anything else besides marijuana. She said no. Then he asked her if she ever did anything else besides smoking a pipe. She said no and walked away. This lady also said that there was a prostitution ring being run out of Washington County Jail.

There is one woman here at CCCF that keeps getting woken up by officers at night between 2 and 4 am. Her feet get itchy from working in the kitchen and they look into her window and laugh at her. March 18th at 2:15am, she saw a short Mexican male officer looking in her window and snickering about her scratching her feet. This is an infringement of her privacy and should not be happening.

There is another lady at CCCF that was blamed for crimes her ex-boyfriend did to one of her family members. Her family has proof that the D.A. in her case took a bribe from her ex-boyfriend so he was allowed to walk free and is now at large to do more crimes against the elderly.

Another lady at CCCF hurt her back working as an orderly at Lynn County Jail and she has not been treated for those injuries. She has three bulging disks and has been forced to work in the kitchen.

Another lady at CCCF had a cell search and the officer destroyed her altar that she had made. The officer also ripped up some poetry that she had written. When she asked the officer why, the officer replied “nothing is sacred here and anything else belongs to me”. This is a direct violation of her religious freedoms and should not be happening.

We continue to see ladies here at CCCF with not only lots of scars on their arms and legs from cutting, but also fresh cuts. One scar looked so deep and long it went nearly around her forearm and looked like there must have been more than 15 stitches. There is obviously something very wrong here and it’s hard to watch so many people suffering so much. The behavioral health counselors have even taken to doing video calls with prisoners instead of meeting with them in person. One of the ladies who attempted suicide last week was out for quite awhile and they had to use a defibrillator to revive her. We are glad she survived but fear she may be suffering from neurological damage, as when she was transported out of the unit, she was having some upper body twitching. If these are the effects of long term incarceration, then we think America needs to take a serious look at the whole system before we lose more lives. We are grateful Oregon has done away with the death penalty, but to watch our fellow prisoners suffer so much in a way can be considered worse than the death penalty itself.

One lady in Washington County Jail had the SWAT team come to her house with an armored human transport vehicle when she wasn’t home . They plowed down two fences on her property that were holding livestock. Upon viewing the scene of the crime they said it was self defense, but when they realized she was going through a divorce, they changed the accusations. Her in-laws were trying to sue her and when she was found guilty, they used her conviction as grounds to sue her. She had no criminal history before this.

At CCCF, we had three different suicide attempts in one day. The roommate of one of the ladies was placed in isolation to be sure she didn’t have anything to do with it. They also took all of her things away from her including her radio.

Here in the kitchen, they won’t allow radios in the dish room because they say we will fight over what station to put it on. One lady was trying to learn something from a coordinator, but she refused to finish teaching her because she interrupted the coordinator by accident.

At Washington County Jail, when the forest fires during the summer of 2021 burned out of control, those of us in the jail had very poor air quality and we could smell it all the time, even in our cells. After awhile, we were coughing because of it as well. The yard was closed and we couldn’t go outside for over a month.

Now at CCCF, there is a farm next door to us that constantly burns what looks like brush fires. The smoke blows over to us and we can smell it in our cells as well. We are grateful it is not as bad as it was in Washington County Jail, but again health and safety is just not a concern for us as prisoners here.

Some of us are college-educated, yet we are still forced to work in the dish pit in the kitchen scrubbing pots and pans all day. The requirement here is to work for 6 months in the kitchen before moving onto another job, but apparently the kitchen staff has a hard time releasing people from kitchen duty. The majority of kitchen coordinators only have a GED education level.

One lady that works in the kitchen has a staph infection in her shoulder and it’s very painful for her to do all of the lifting and scrubbing. Her shoulder had been dislocated and she needs surgery. When she showed us, it was red and inflamed. The medical staff knows about this and they still force her to work.

Another lady working in the kitchen has an artificial back and plates in her face. Another one has severe spinal injuries and is one point away from having osteoporosis. There are not very many jobs these ladies can do that don’t require hard physical labor and yet the coordinators let the healthy young ladies have jobs as cooks, which are a lot less difficult. When ladies are done with work at night in the dish pit, we see many of them limping and hobbling. It is also the lowest paying job in the kitchen.

We have a lady at CCCF that slipped and fell in the kitchen on March 15th at 2:45 pm. She hit her mouth on a bucket and it gave her a bloody lip and a bruise on her chin. She got turned down by medical three times. They never documented it or treated her.

Another lady that works in the kitchen had a tooth pulled. It wasn’t just pulled though. It was flush with her gums so the dentist had to dig for it and then suture it back up. They never gave her any days off to heal and she was in a lot of pain and still trying to work.

Every night when leaving the kitchen, the coordinators spend a lot of time searching all the ladies before they can leave, but when a new lady comes in to work they don’t take any time to make sure she has the right shoes that don’t slip, ask if they have any major medical conditions, or even make sure she has the right tools to do her job. There is no workman’s comp here and safety is just not a concern for the kitchen coordinators and often the medical staff as well.

At Washington County Jail, one pregnant lady was told her due date was a month earlier than the actual due date and she had to have a c-section. The baby’s lungs ended up collapsing and he had to be on a breathing machine for two weeks.

At CCCF, ladies working in the kitchen are paid about half as much as the men are at the men’s prison. There are also more work programs available to the men, like the automotive program and a program where the men can become lawyers and actually practice from their prison. We think the ladies should have the same opportunities as the men.

Also at CCCF, one lady was reprimanded for helping a disabled lady in her wheel chair to get her food. Many disabled ladies are released from prison with nowhere to go and nobody to help them. We hope we are able to find this lady help for when she is released.

We have another lady who is here at CCCF who is an immigrant that used a plastic cup to make a cup of coffee and was sentenced to ten years in prison. This, as well as the other incident I mentioned in an earlier message about a lady being threatened by the system for not having her green card and DHS allowing her to commit suicide while in State custody, leads me to believe that the State of Oregon not only discriminates against women but they also discriminate against immigrants.

In Washington County Jail there was a lady who was placed in a segregation unit as punishment because she did not speak English. She was also placed in a shower stall nude for over two hours more than once.

There is another sexual assault victim who came forward at Washington County Jail and also one of the other victims is extremely depressed and hasn’t received medical attention here at CCCF. She has not received any counseling or medication and at Washington County Jail I watched her having an extreme panic attack where she hit her head against the floor and she was not she was not treated there for the concussion. She awoke in isolation (punishment) with a lot of blood and distorted vision.

Often during trials, a person’s prior convictions are used as a substitute for evidence. But in Washington County several ladies with clean records and have never been in trouble with the Law ended up being convicted up with only circumstantial evidence on murder charges and receive life sentences. One lady, before conviction, was brought into a full courtroom wearing shackles in a wheelchair because she had not eaten in two months due to all the threats and punishments she receive from deputies at the Jail and her public defenders.. They originally tried to make her walk in shackles, but she could not walk fast enough to please them. She was given a sentencing hearing with a judge from another County (they never told from which County) and he tried to coerce her to make a deal and to plead guilty to a crime she did not commit. During her trial in Washington County the judge allowed the State to seize a vehicle they had seized without a warrant, even though her family is in desperate need of a vehicle, since her parents are terminally ill.

Another lady here had evidence stolen from her case by the DA. This lady also had been sexually abused and assaulted at Washington County Jail but she was not treated for painful injuries while she awaited trial there for two years. Both of these ladies had been placed in isolation units before trials and they had no criminal history. In more than three instances ladies we not given credit for time served at Washington County Jail when later sentenced to CCCF.
